EPD District Offices

Georgia EPD oversees the operation of seven district offices located around the state. EPD associates in these offices perform enforcement and compliance work on a variety of environmental issues, and field citizen complaints and questions.

The EPD Emergency Response Program also operates from the District Offices.  It performs these duties:

• Responds to spills and releases of oil or hazardous materials on a 24-hour basis.
• Investigates high priority complaints.
• Maintains Right-to-Know (SARA/Title III) information.
• Serves as staff to the State Emergency Response Commission.
• Maintains Georgia Environmental Policy Act files.
• Implements provisions of the Emergency Planning and Community Right To Know Act.
